Recycling glass

Introduction:

Glass is one of the most widely used products in the tasks of day-to-day. To be thrown in the trash by people and businesses can go through a recycling process that guarantees its reuse in the production of recycled glass. The recycled glass has virtually all the features of ordinary glass. It can be recycled many times without losing its characteristics and quality.

Importance:

Glass recycling is extremely important for the environment. When we recycle glass or buy recycled glass are contributing to the environment, as this material can no longer go to landfill or nature (rivers, lakes, soil, forests).

Separation in the recycling process:

One of the first steps in the glass recycling process is detached by colors (amber, green, translucent and blue) and types (straight, wavy, glass windows, cups, ...).
This separation is extremely important for the manufacture of new glass objects, it ensures its characteristics and qualities.


Types of recyclable glass:

- Bottles juices, soft drinks, beer and other beverages;
- Medicine bottles;
- Perfume bottles;
- Glass flat and smooth;
- Window glazing;
- Plates, bowls and glasses (provided they are not of acrylic, ceramic or porcelain).

Curiosity:

- The main raw materials used in the production of all types of glass is silica (silicon dioxide).
